This is Corky hanging out under a chair on the cute cat hammock. You’d have to be looking for him to see him unless you were paying particular attention to the floor. 
Presumably that’s what makes both hammocks so popular with the cats: the opportunity to watch the human and other cats without being bothered in return.

Big cat, small kitty bed, annoying human with camera. 
Cat does not like to be disturbed when he is sleeping. 
Cat signals his displeasure by making a funny face at human. Human snaps one more picture and leaves. Cat returns to napping. Nothing new in this house.

Fireball was feisty the other night. 
He was in a playful mood and kept swatting at anything that moved, including human body parts shifting position under the blanket. 
To distract him from puncturing her flesh, the wimpy human started swinging the cord attached to her phone’s case. 
The Kitty Comet had a grand time chasing it. 
Sometimes he dove with one paw out, sometimes he dove with both out. 
Sometimes he just sat there watching the cord swishing back and forth while plotting how he’d catch it. 
A few times he really got hold of it and started biting a bobble on the end of the cord used to tighten the loop around a human hand. 
It’s so nice having cooler weather where our little Gingerbread Bear is more active. 
Can we have a big awwww for the cute kitty? 
<<Ooops, enough of playing with the human. There are much more interesting and pleasurable things to do off this bed.>>

Which torture device do you think is most scary? 
It’s a close call between the nail clippers and the vacuum. However, the clippers only come out once a month and only three of the cats have front claws that need to be trimmed. 
The vacuum, on the other hand, comes out multiple times a week and causes pandemonium among all the boy kitties. Yes, you guessed it, Miss Mac is not afraid of the vacuum as long as she’s up high and it stays down on the floor and doesn’t come too near. She just smirks at it. The boys, on the other hand, run for the next floor whenever they even hear the cord rattle and long before the scary motor turns on.
By the way, bells didn’t even make the list this year. That’s got to be progress of a type.

The silly human showed up and started taking pictures. 
The Big Guy leaned back to see what the human was doing. 
Not surprisingly, he gave the human “that face” and kept his paws on the Merkitty.

They get so dirty running around on rugs all day.

This is Pepe performing his morning ballet. He loves to lay at the very edge of the bed and dangle not just limbs but also his head. 
When he sees he has the human’s attention, he starts rolling around, making the human worry he’ll roll off at any moment. 
Given that the human’s bed is quite tall — it requires an extra-deep bed skirt that is at least 44 inches/112 cm high, and then there is the added height of the mattress — the prospect that he’ll take a tumble while he’s being silly is no laughing matter. The Pepster is not deterred and returns to dangling.

Something arrived by mail. The dutiful human placed the (almost) empty box on the floor. The Merkitty hopped in before Pepe could claim it as his own.
Amidst the packing bubbles, she looked imploringly at the human. “Mail me away,” she seemed to be saying. 
<<Or maybe that’s just another bad human interpretation of a completely different kitty expression. That’s why we’re the superior life form in this house!>>

Pepe sleeps in the strangest positions. 
Does this look comfortable to you? 
It must be for him as he sleeps like this for hours on end — occasionally flipping fully onto his back and putting his forepaws into the air.

Caesar was cuddled up in one of the small cat beds the other day. The human walked in to do something in that room. Of course, she couldn’t resist a quick visit with the Emperor. He gave her that look. 
Undissuaded, the human started snapping pictures and petting a dangling paw. He gave her another look. 
Still she persisted in pestering him. This time she photographed his tummy too. The Big Guy was not amused. <<Really, could anyone who loves cats resist those paws and that tummy?>>

Well, one of the cats’ favorite toy mice has met its end. It spent the night in a bowl of soft food. Fortunately, we have lots more toy mice lying around so the meows won’t be toy-deprived anytime soon. 
Why they periodically do this is a great mystery to the human. Toy mice end up floating in water bowls, sitting in bowls of soft food, or even tucked beside or inside the human’s shoes. Maybe it’s cats’ inscrutable nature that makes them so fascinating.

<<You’ve noted the lack of postings of late have you not? The human is back to focusing too much time and effort on work and too little on us — or at least on chronicling our adventures for you, our admirers. Yes, we’ve learned to post, and yes we know how to buy stock photos from the internet, but no we don’t know how to use the camera…not that we could pry her cell phone away from her to get access to it. So what do you think we should do? We thought about sending her back to the doghouse, but right after we did that she abandoned us to go camping. Perhaps that was not as well conceived as we thought. Humans…can’t live with them and can’t live without them.>>

Caesar was in one of the kitty beds reclining next to the human. 
The Little Red Bee came up for some hugs. After getting a brushing and some toothpaste treat, he hopped over and joined his big brother. 
Problem is his Big Brother always thinks he needs a bath. Out came one of those big Caesar paws and held poor Fireball in place.

Here are the Big Boys, Caesar and Pepe sleeping back-to-back, numb to the world. Since the human was quiet and no one woke up during the photo opp, there was no pouty face from the Emperor and no calisthenics from Pepe.

Here’s Fireball catching a snooze by an open window where he can enjoy the early morning breeze. But do you see the second kitty in his picture? Yes, the Big Emperor is curled up in the small bed for Fireball-size kitties and Fireball is stretched out on the enormous bed for Caesar-size kitties. Go figure!

Look at what the very thoughtful kitties left by the human’s shoes so early in the morn’. I guess they figured she went off camping but forgot to pack a cat toy, so they made sure to put one of their favorites right by her shoes in case she made any more trips away from home.

Pepe likes to get on top of the human and lay very, very, very close to her face. Cat breath aside, when he’s that close, his spikey whiskers tickle her face. 
And then every few minutes he leans over and licks her neck or chin…or pokes some part of her face with a soft forepaw. <<I guess you guys missed me after all.>>

Mac needed cuddles. She really, really, really needed the human to hold her…three times during work that day. After all, the human snuck out and was gone for four days, so the Merkitty was entitled to some snuggles. Now that the 2-legged was back, the Girly Girl was going to make up for lost time. <<Only a truly cruel human would turn away a small kitty who needed hugs!>>
But the human was on deadline and needed both her hands to type. Little Bird was not going to permit that so finally the human had to get mean and shut the door. That didn’t deter the Smirky One, who threw her little body against the door, easily popping it open again. This time she didn’t wait at the foot of the chair for the human to notice her. No, she jumped right up onto the keyboard. <<There are many ways to get a human to pay attention to you but few are as effective as landing on the keyboard when the human is trying to use it. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!>>
