Is it Me or Is it Getting Crowded Here?

The human walked into the living room and couldn’t believe her eyes. There were four kitties all lined up on the back of one of the couches.  It sure looked like it was getting crowded there.  Not sure what the attraction was on that particular afternoon, but usually the kitties spread themselves out better — they have well developed senses of personal space.

Pepe Trying to Teach Mac to use the Automatic Feeder

Pepe has mostly mastered the automatic feeder/kitty puzzle and now can get a snack anytime he feels like it.  The minute the unit starts making its telltale sound, the Crunchie Queen, Miss Mac, runs over and parks herself next to the device. (Fireball is often not far behind.)  Early the other morning, the human caught Pepe trying to teach Mac how to use the gadget.  She did put her paw on the purple top at one point, but she didn’t move her clever little foot enough to dispense any snacks. Ah well, Mac isn’t much for self-service when she can get the human or another kitty to do the work for her.

The Philosopher

Here is Caesar contemplating the meaning of life. And here is Caesar watching the human and her camera to make sure all she does is snap pics, not touch toes.

Mouse Munchies

Apparently, the toy mice in this house keep getting hungry and hopping into food bowls at night. Either that or the cats think their toys need something to eat.

Just Layin’ Around

The Big Boys, Caesar and Pepe, were having a little siesta together when the human walked by with her annoying camera. Fortunately, she didn’t touch any of their outstretched paws.

Another One Bites the Dust…

Or, perhaps that should be “Another [Tailless Toy Mouse] Bites the Kitty Food…”

When You’re Happy and You Know it…

When you’re happy and you know it, it’s important that you show it… before bounding off to the next room…

House Archaeologist

The house archaeologist was busy excavating the other night.  The human found a large number of kitty toys had been dug out of two different toy boxes and left in a pile on one of the stairs. Wonder if this sought-after toy was eventually found?

Correlation Does Not Imply Causation

Proximity of a (smirking) kitty to the light switch that turns off power to the bed does not mean that said kitty has pulled down the light switch again.

Twofer

One night not long ago, two beige mice were found in two blue bowls that sat side-by-side on the stairs.  Bet there’s an interesting backstory there somewhere.

Krang & Juno Check Out the World

Yes, the bad human has been very busy of late and has not been posting. Nothing new there.  While you wait for her to get her act together, and while the Penta Pack plan their reprisals, here’s a cute pick of Krang (the hairless Sphynx, left) and Juno (the angora fluffernutter, right) checking out their surroundings courtesy of the human’s niece.

A Proper-Size Bag

Pepe was elated. The human had a big bag and she put it on the floor. Pepe, of course, hopped right in. After turning around inside it a couple of times, he settled down to check out the view from his secret hideaway. <<Yes, a distinctly different view of the room!>> Of course, being Pepe, he had to be silly and left the bag after a short time.  He got all wound up and pounced on the bag, flattening the bag to the floor.  The human indulged him a couple of times by opening the bag up so he could hop back inside.  However, Pepe got bored and wanted some new entertainment. That’s when the human thought to take out the laser pointer. From the vantage point of the bag, Pepe leapt and pounced and had a grand old time. Fortunately, even Pepe — the cat equivalent of a young golden retriever — eventually tired and the human was able to go back to eating, thinking, and planning her day.

Nocturnal Romps

It’s no wonder the human doesn’t get quality sleep at night given the number of toy mice that are scattered all around on the upstairs floors when she awakens. This haul represents a single night and a space of no more than 1 square meter.

Nestmates

No Bag Too Small

The human had been eating some takeout.  She heard the distinctive jingle indicating Pepe was approaching.  She tossed the takeout bag on the floor.  Pepe saw it and ran for the bag, pushing his way inside.  It was a pretty tight fit, so he only got his head and shoulders in before calling it quits.  <<The least she could do is give me a bigger bag. Such a bad human!>>
